The Children’s Society report ‘4 in every 10 disabled children living in poverty' makes key recommendations to ministers detailing how families can be lifted out of poverty, including urging the Government to make sure that all families with disabled children are aware of, and able to take up, their full entitlement to benefits.
RGGP Mental Capacity Act (MCA) Toolkit for Adults in England and Wales 2011 - The Mental Capacity Act 2005 was implemented in England and Wales in 2007 to provide the legal framework for acting and making decisions on behalf of individuals who lack the mental capacity to make particular decisions for themselves. The safeguards contained within the Act provide a framework for assessment and decision-making as well as defining a process regarding who should be consulted and the time scales for doing so. This tool kit is designed provide information and support for the application of the Mental Capacity Act to GPs and Primary Care Staff.
Personal Health Budgets: what are the experiences of early adopters? Personal budgets for healthcare are being piloted in English PCTs. We are evaluating this initiative in order to find out whether personal health budgets lead to better health and social care outcomes, compared to conventional service delivery. This interim report was written after interviewing 58 people from 17 PCTs about their experiences so far, generally three months after the offer of a personal health budget (PHB).
