Neurodisability sub-specialty training
Welcome to the wonderful paediatric sub-specialty of neurodisability! We hope you enjoy your training time. This welcome information has been put together by the Neurodisability CSAC to provide guidance in areas such as ARCPs and the curriculum, plus details of who to contact if you have any concerns or queries.
If you are interested in finding out more about neurodisability training routes and as a future career option, want to gain some experience of neurodisability or find out more about what is happening locally, our regional representatives would be happy to discuss with you and answer any questions.
As of 1 August 2018, sub-specialty trainees use the RCPCH Progress Level 3 Generic syllabus alongside the Royal College of Paediatrics & Child Health Progress Paediatric Neurodisability Syllabus.
As a specialty group for the RCPCH, BACD is involved in the development and delivery of sub-specialty training for paediatric neurodisability.
The College Specialty Advisory Committees (CSACs) supervise the development and delivery of subspecialty training and the assessment standards.
Paediatrics: Neurodisability SPIN module
Level 3 paediatric trainees are able to apply for a SPIN module in paediatric neurodisability. This is additional training and experience in a clinical area, in which a 12-18 month placement is completed.
