Do you have a wonderful trainee or mentor? Please share their achievements with us!

It’s been a challenging few months and we feel that our trainees and mentors need a boost!

We are looking for you to nominate trainees (FY1-ST8 and trust doctors) and mentors (consultants, AHP and nursing colleagues) that you feel have gone above and beyond in the fields of Neurodisability, Medical Complexity and Community Child Health, either before or during the pandemic. We would love to share and acknowledge their achievements!

Please email under the Headings of ‘Outstanding Trainee nomination’ or ‘Outstanding Mentor nomination’ and tell us about your fantastic colleagues! The categories are:

  • FY1-ST3 and Trust grade SHOs
  • ST4-5 and Trust grade Registrars
  • ST6-8
  • and a separate category for Mentors

We need: their name, role/grade and place of work and for you to tell us in a paragraph or two why they deserve to win

Deadline for submission: Midnight on 16th July 2020

What is The Neurodisability Community? The Neurodisability Community is an on-line platform designed to support networking and education for CCH and  Neurodisability GRID trainees. It is hosted on-line through Trello. Two ‘boards’ have been created. The first covers training, courses, research, condition specific resources and an area to share projects and learning. The second is specific to START preparation. The Neurodisability Community is trainee-led with input from CSAC and peers. Content is populated by users; the immediate upload allows ‘live’ conversations. User feedback ensures information is easily updated.

Why did we set up The Neurodisability Community? Communication, knowledge and collaborative working are fundamental components of excellent patient care.  Neurodisability has small numbers of trainees, spread nationally. It is logistically challenging for trainees to connect. We wondered if an online, sub-speciality learning portal could be the answer; to bridge the barriers, build links, share learning and enhance training experience. A survey of CCH and Neurodisability trainees was carried out and the results supported the need for such a platform.

How do I access The Neurodisability Community? To join The Neurodisability Community please email us

Would you like to become involved in The Neurodisability Community project? We are looking for enthusiastic trainees to join us. If you are interested in helping us take this project forward then please let us know on the above email address.
