Transition from child to adult health services - case reviewers recruitment

NCEPOD is undertaking a study to explore the barriers and facilitators in the process of the transition of young people with complex chronic conditions from child to adult health services.

We are recruiting a multi-disciplinary group of healthcare professionals with a working interest in the care of this group of young people. Case reviewers will be asked to attend meetings during which they will assess case note extracts and questionnaires and provide expert opinion on the care young people receive. Two training days will be held on Thursday 9th December and Monday 20th December via MS Teams (if you are unable to make one of these dates, training on an ad hoc basis is possible). You would typically be required to attend/join a minimum of 4 subsequent case reviewer meetings at the NCEPOD offices in London or via MS Teams. It is anticipated case review meetings will begin in February 2022 and will run for approximately 6 months. The data collected during these meetings will form a major part of the study’s final report. Travel expenses will be reimbursed.

We are looking for clinicians from a wide variety of specialties, including (but not exclusive to) transition coordinators, paediatricians; physicians and surgeons; nurses; general practitioners; physiotherapists; speech & language therapists; occupational therapists; and hospital-based youth workers; working in primary, community, physical healthcare, and social care, with an interest in transition.

We aim to recruit clinicians from different clinical grades of at least ST6 and above to ensure that applicants have enough experience for the case note review aspect. Applicants should be in current clinical practice.
