On 19th January 2026, RCPCH is running a free webinar called Safeguarding – now and the future in which in which Dr Vicki Walker and Michelle Dougan – Assistant Director of Corporate Safeguarding and Compliance at Barnardo’s – will be discussing how safeguarding has developed over the past 10 years, and will look at how safeguarding has changed from being more about physical abuse and neglect and explore how different factors such as a wider understanding of neurodiversity, the internet and the rise of incel culture can lead to safeguarding considerations that paediatricians need to know about.
It will also develop knowledge of the College’s education offer for Level 3 Safeguarding including Safeguarding in the Digital World and Children, Violence and Safeguarding.
