BACD is calling for abstracts for presentation at the 2027 Annual Scientific Meeting - we particularly welcome abstracts showcasing innovative MDT working practices and the impact of different roles on clinical practice and for patients and their families.
Abstracts will be reviewed and the top scoring abstracts will be invited to present either oral or poster presentation in person in Sheffield.
Mac Keith Press Prizes The best oral presentation will win a cash prize of £500 and the best poster presentation will win a cash prize of £250.

If selected for Presentation
- You will be notified if your abstract will be an oral or poster presentation by 14 January 2027.
- At least one named author must register to attend the ASM on Thursday 11 March in person in Sheffield to present the oral or poster presentation.
- Undergraduate students and foundation doctors selected will receive free registration to attend and present on Thursday 11 March (up to 2 per abstract selected).
- Those selected for poster presentation are required to provide a jpeg/png file of their poster 2 weeks before the event so that all posters can be viewed by all delegates, both in person and virtual.
- The Mac Keith Press prizes for best oral and best poster presentation will be announced at the end of the conference on Thursday 11 March 2026.
Key Dates
- Noon, Thursday 10 December 2026 - abstract submission closes
- Thursday 14 January 2027 - abstracts selected for oral and poster presentation confirmed
- Early bird registration closes Tuesday 19 January 2027
- Thursday 25 February 2027 - all presenters to have registered to attend the conference on Thursday 11 March, and poster presenters to submit jpeg/png file of poster
Please note that posters must be printed and brought to the venue for presentation - there is no e-poster option and you will not be able to present virtually
