Weigh to Go! is a BACD initiative raising awareness of the need to weigh and measure all children and young people regularly, including those who are vulnerable, physically disabled, and neurodevelopmentally diverse, to ensure:

  • they get the right amount of medication
  • they are healthy and growing well

BACD invites healthcare professionals working with disabled children and young people to take part in the 2025 BACD Weigh to Go! national audit to identify if weight and height are being recorded at each clinical encounter for disabled children and young people in their trust/ health board/ provider.

There are two parts to the audit:

1.       Weigh to Go! checklist 2025

2.       Excel database for auditors to collect data

We ask each trust/ health board/ provider to collect data on at least 30 patients seen in a clinical setting within the dates 1 August and 30 September 2025.

You can collect data from different settings within your trust/ health board/ provider, but we ask that the data is merged into one master spreadsheet.

The deadline to return the spreadsheet and submit the completed checklist is Wednesday 1st October 2025.

To sign up for the 2025 audit please complete the following form, and we will email you the link to complete the checklist and the spreadsheet.

If your trust/ health board/ provider already has a Weigh to Go! champion, we will put you in touch with each other to liaise together.
